Power Booster Adjustment

I am converting over from standard drum/drum to power disc/drum on my 70 Cuda.
One question that I do have is that when I connect the master cylinder to the power booster is there a specific length that the rod that extends from the booster to the master needs to be.
Appreciate it.

extend the rod until it touches just before the master is fully seated against the booster then shorten it until it touches about the same time the master touches the booster , so there is no play & the piston is not depressed at all
