Torsion bar retaining clips
« on: October 13, 2008 - 06:48:49 PM »
It's been a while since I had the Cuda disassembled and I can not remember where the retaining clips go on the torsion bar.  I would have assumed at the very back, however I do not see a groove where it would sit in.  Silly question, but I can't figure this out.  It is used to keep the rubber boot on?

Thanks.

I just went through the same thing while reassembling my car. Even though you can't see the groove there is one behind the torsion bar. I believe it's to keep the bar from sliding out the back of the crossmember even though I don't  believe that would happen...

When I put mine back in I had to pound on the rear of the bars to get them to side forward enough to reveal the groove

I had no problem getting mine in. I did take a straight edge screwdriver and carefully clean out the groove.

BTW you can get the retaining clips and T-bar seals from Mopar Performance. BUT the T-bar seals just jumped up to nearly $50 a pair  :swear:

BUT there is a trick to getting them cheaper. Call Troy at Westoaks MP 1-800-748-6118 x255 he has a trick.  :woo:
