Jeep SRT8 anyone own one?

Looking to buy a Jeep SRT8, and was wondering anyone here owns one that can tell me if they are happy with it?

Those things are sweet.  Just remember they're basically a really big car - they're not built for off-road usage.

During my time as a service writer I can honestly say we never saw one.  I don't chalk that up to durability - I chalk it up to very low sales.  They're just not very common.  Just make sure if you get a used one, check for recalls - a few jeeps had some ball joint issues, but I think they were mostly Liberty's.

I've driven a few of them at the SRT track days and all I can saw is WOW!!! What an amazing rig, downside of course is lousy fuel economy, but with the all wheel drive and lower rear end gears (3.73) they have a hell of a hole shot on the other SRT 8 vehicles. With the traction control on I was able to do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds. I like them in black.

Living in south Florida I can honestly say that I see them often. They look hot in black, with the chrome wheels.
Going to sell my 02 Porsche Turbo, but would like something fast that can haul stuff.

A kid in my high school has one. I don't know much about the SRT8 but my mothers 3.7 has been fine for 20,000 miles.

...my wife has an 06 SRT8 Jeep.....bought it when they first hit the streets and still have it....possibly the most fun new vehicle I have ever owned...mine has 13K trouble free miles...I call it the "square Viper"...acceleration and handling are beyond belief for a 4700lb vehicle...gas mileage 17mpg at the best, usually averages about 13 city/hwy

If he does he's good at keeping secrets lol. I'm eyeing up one, would sell my WJ and Subaru but well worth it.
The 4x4 traction off the line is amazing, check out some You Tube vids - holy crap!  11/12 second 1/4s aren't "too" hard.
