I think your stock may go down and Chrysler stock will hopefully go up!
I think it's all a crock actually.

i expect some short term loss .but if this goes down it will be in less than a few weeks . gm is about to drop in a few weeks along with dodge .this needs to happen, the lenders are pushing this or no influx of working capital .c

I don't think GM stock can go any lower. You probably won't lose much if it tanks  :smilielol:

In case I'm drunk, has this deal already been made and GM and Chrysler are now officially "one"? :dunno:
I heard about the plans to (been on the cards for a year now) but hadn't heard that it actually "happened". ???

It is not official yet, according to the news, they are still just talking.

I believe the deal is that Cerberus (?), who is the majority owner of Chrysler, is also a partial owner of GM, and they are talking about trading shares that would make them the majority owner of both companies.  It's not like they are going to change any nameplates or brands, you'll just probably see the demise of Pontiac, Buick, and Hummer (Hummer will be sold off, the others will go the way of Oldsmobile).  It's not necessarily a bad thing, since they already share some of their technology.

Not quite - Cerberus is a partial owner of GMAC - the financial credit company.  GMAC does auto loans, mortgages, etc.  Cerberus was basically offering Chrysler in exchange for the REST of GMAC.
