Can you identify these brackets?
« on: October 19, 2008 - 10:48:19 AM »
I am putting together a '72 Challenger Rallye for a friend.  I got the car after it was painted and it came with TONS of stuff in boxes.  I have never worked on a Challenger before so I am looking for help identifying some brackets I found in a box.  There is a possibility they are not for this car or they could even be duplicates because he got a buch of parts from a '74 donor car.
Thanks for looking!

Bracket 1

Bracket 2

Bracket 3  (I think these are supposed to look alike, the one on the left is bent up a bit)

Bracket 4

Bracket 5

Bracket 6

Bracket 7

Bracket 8

Bracket 9

Bracket 10

Jeff ???

#1 is the firewall backing plate for a non-power brake master cylinder.

Bracket #6 kinda looks like the rear muffler S-bracket mount but it's different than the one on my '70 - almost looks sideways like it's for an AAR or T/A.

:iagree:
Thats what I was thinking AAR or T/A.
Some of this stuff cleaned up see what shape they are underneath. Rust away and a blaster then re paint they'll be re usable.

4 looks more like the exhaust hanger bracket under the rerar seat , but the seat mount bracket is similar depending on the size
9 is  inner fender supports for a 71 up B body

I would also guess that both #2 and #4 are bumper brackets.

Just so you know, those brackets in pic #8 aren't needed on your car.   :2cents:

I have #1 behind my brake booster to firewall.

The ones used on power brakes are attached (spot welded?) to the booster, the ones for manual brakes are separate.
