Big @ss brakes for the Cuda!- UPDATE #1
« on: October 20, 2008 - 07:52:59 PM »
Bit by bit the components for my brakes have been arriving. I'm still waiting on rear caliper brackets, and last night I discovered I spec'd out the wrong bearings, but today the rotors arrived.

I couldn't resist mocking up the fronts with the wheels.

These are 13" Cobra brakes from Dr Diff. Wheels are 18x8 Foose Montereys. Rears will be 11.7"

Sorry, the lighting kind of sucks. I didn't realize I had the flash disabled until I after tore everything apart.

Under $1800 delivered for the whole package, front and rear.

:useless:

And that smiley is totally pointless and uncalled for considering I went to the trouble of mocking it up and posting two pictures.  :screwy:

SORRY :22yikes:
I was referring to the brakes by themselves not hiding behind the wheels.
The wheels are sweet but I want to see the brake parts they look cool also.

Made some progress today. Finally got all the hardware I needed. Pretty much got both the front and the rear done.

I'll need to bend some new brake lines on the rear. Before I do that though, I need to trim the back brace. I noticed it's too wide and will get into the U-bolts, so I've got some work to do with the grinder.

Got a little help from my 4 year old daughter bolting down the axle retainers. You can't tell from the angle, but she is swinging a ratchet... pretty darn well. Wish I would have got a picture of her a little later when she was teaching one of her "babies" how to do it.  ;D

Here are some pics of the rear:
