Be aware that many people out there get taken for nos parts when they are actually repops. Ebay vendors do this a lot.

N O S   is always the best route.   then they have assembly line N O S  and dealership  N O S.

Those of us who purchase NOS parts   :droolingbounce:all seem to have the same definition as to what they are. But alot of vendors who sell parts "professionally" seem to get very confused by the term !!  :pullinghair:
It is definitely a buyers beware market Nos , OEM , Napa , Auto Zone it has become "NOS" it alot of sellers .  :horse:

Remember that NOS albeit "new" is still 40 years old and in some cases poor condition, regardless of being "new" or not.

And you are TOTALLY correct on that!! but when you gotta you gotta!! I have that "RARE" wide trim on the front of my 71 and I found a piece on e-bay and they said it was "NOS" fortunately I got it for real cheap cause when I receieved it it was in real bad shape! it is suppose to have black paint around the front and it is almost all scratched off AND the chrome is REAL scratched up! seems like the guy had it in his warehouse for the past 40 years and stacked stuff on top of it, slid it around all without being in any type of protective cover! so it is definately buyer beware!! but like I said I needed it so I was happy in any condition!!
