XV Motorsports? Update
« on: October 22, 2008 - 02:38:45 PM »
Boy, these guys are a real piece of work! As some of you have read in my 5.7 Hemi into 70 Barracuda thread in the Engines forum, XV has had my money for a 4 bbl intake for over 4 months now and I still don't know when I'll get the intake. On a whim I did a search for hemi intakes at Ebay and lo and behold up pops an auction for XV"s intake by XV showing 9 available! They had their phone number listed in case of any questions, so I called them. Here's the conversation;

Me; I'm calling about the 5.7 hemi intake auction you are running on Ebay.

XV guy; Yes, what can I do for you.

Me; Do you have the manifold in stock?

XV guy; Not right now we don't.

Me; Your auction shows 9 available!

XV guy; Actually, that should have been changed. We ran out of them about a week or so ago. We have some more on order from the foundry.

Me; When do you expect them?

XV guy; We should be getting them in 4 to 5 weeks.

Me; Okay, thank you.

What is it with these people? Either they have been lying to me for 4 months, or they are running Ebay Buy-it-now auctions for a product that they don't even have and are misleading ebayers! Either way, their business ethics certainly leave a lot to be desired! :faint:

I dont doubt the quality of the product, only the people that are selling it.

They've offered to refund my money a couple of times when I've gotten a little out of sorts with them on the phone, so I'm not worried about losing my money. I need a 4 bbl manifold though and the best price I've found for the MP manifold is about $150 more than XV's. I'm going to start looking for an MP manifold right now, and if I can find one in stock for around $650 I'll probably bite the bullet and get it. I already know that Summit is out of stock, I'm hoping that maybe Arrington engines has them and is reasonable.

I've heard a lot of stuff like that about XV. Even seatbelts people have waited forever to get. I plan on getting their seatbelts and picking them up in person so there is no waiting. I wish I took more pictures at their open house in June they had boxes of stuff on shelves on one wall.

If it is a Mopar Performance part, it may be worth your while to give Dave at Rosevill Moparts a call, as he is a member here and gives discount to fellow members and is a Mopar Performance dealer. :2thumbs:

Very unfortunate to hear this.  I have been planning on a stage II suspension kit from them.   Probably the frame connectors also.  Hope they get their act together!

Seems Mopar Performance thinks their manifold is gold plated, the prices I'm getting on it are in the $950-$1000 dollar range. Summit and Jegs list it for $629 but not in stock. Bet the price goes up when they get them back in stock! I'll try Dave though.

I talked to Ted a couple of hours ago. You're right, super nice guy! Unfortunately he doesn't have anything in stock. He's going to check with some contacts and see what he can come up with and call me back in the morning. :thumbsup:
