When The Whole Is Greater Than The Sum Of The Parts - Very Cool 74 Cuda

As a general rule of thumb I don't pay much attention to 1972-74 Cudas.  I don't like the round tail lights, rear tail panel chrome, stripes, or the grille nearly as much as it's predecessors.  No disrespect to those that do like them, just my personal preference.  Other things I don't care for on Cudas are vinyl tops and blue/red/green cars that have the same color exterior and interior.  So why is it that this car commits all of the Cardinal Sins in my Cuda bible of likes/dislikes, but I love it anyway?:

Hey - correct me if I'm wrong, but that car was for sale on the grounds of Carlisle in 2007.  Looks incredibly familiar and the modifications sounds right, too.

That thing was absolutely GORGEOUS, too...  I'm not a fan of green cars (though I LOVE the 72 to 74's) and even I was smitten over it.

Maybe I don't need a Viper...

Eh that's alright.  Part of me still thinks that just buying a turn-key 'Cuda won't be nearly as much fun as building one myself.  A Viper is different - that's gonna be my toy.  But the 'Cuda - the 'Cuda will be my pride and joy - my creation.  Like grown-man legos...

That's pretty funny you realized you broke all your rules.  Car looks nice and clean though.   For some reason I like it too and I'm not into green.  maybe it is the rims

I kinda like this cuda, the stance, it's clean, even the color grows on you....but I think 72+ cars need small blocks and white vinyl roofs scare me

Always true - very true.  But maybe not necessarily as fun, and in my opinion not as self-rewarding.

It also really came down to budget.  In 2006 when I bought the 'Cuda even the 11K I spent was a stretch.  Now I'm looking to pay it off 2 and a half years early and spend over 30K on a used Viper.  I could easily spend it on a 'Cuda, but I already have a 'Cuda and I still don't make enough to go buying multiple versions of the same car.  Cough cough Daytona cough cough...

I remember it being for sale on Cudaworld in the 2003 - 2005 timeframe also.

Keystones definitely look good on E-bodies.......  I certainly like them better than the rallye wheel with the 1972-74 style center cap.
