Yeah I don't like the interior.  I'm hoping it's easier to stomach in person.

I've actually been thinking of replacing all the brown with a nice, deep blue, and putting on blue stripes.  But we'll see.

As far as engine upgrades, this thing is already up to 512 horsepower, and I'm going to get used to drive that, first.  My original idea had been getting the Hennessey 650R package, but I dunno - I contacted them for some information and they never replied.  That's an instant turn off for me.

And believe me - I'm going to be scared stiff driving this car.  I'm going to take it very easy until I at least attend the Skip Barber Viper driving school, hopefully next year.

DO NOT LET HENNESSEY TOUCH YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least research them before you do it. It will suprise the hell out of you the things you will find out about that man and his insane lack of ethics. I think DAYTONA knows what I am talking about, ask him to steer you in the right direction in researching the man and his company. Oh and I agree with Stroker, I think the interior looks kinda cool. Definitely different.

100% agree. Go to any Viper forum and search them, not good.

I wouldn't take a push bike to Hennessey.

Cool car.  Glad to see that the prices are finally coming down a little on the GTS.  A few years ago you couldn't find a GTS for less that 45K.  Even the 10 year old GTS's were still going for that price.  That is an absolute steal.
I like the color also.  Looks like a good contrast to me.

GTS's are still listed at low 40's.  I just got lucky.  No one is buying cars right now.  No one.  Even the seller said he's had a helluva time selling it.  The buying market is dry as a bone.

I bid $35,5 and 15 minutes later was outbid - that thing sat for days with no interest.  So I sniped it with 10 seconds left only to realize that the current bidder only had it by 400 bucks.  No one is willing to pony up the cash even with these fantastic deals.

The 25K in upgrades is what really sealed the deal for me.  Unbelievable what this guy has put into this car and then sold it for.  I feel bad for him, honestly.

Like I said - engine upgrades are a long way off.  I'm going to have enough on my hands with 500+ horsepower.  The nice thing is that, with this car already having more power, I can use "go" money on the 'Cuda instead, getting it's engine built.

I'm sure you all would agree with that idea.  :)

First things first will be replacing that interior - or dying it - and possibly a stripe job on the car, or a complete repaint.

And in the meantime, lots and lots and lots of tanks of premium gasoline.  :)

Jeff, thats a pretty rare combination with that interior, not sure if i'd dye it, maybe replace it and save the original stuff.   :2thumbs:  Some stripes would look good.   :2thumbs:

I'm going a step further - I'm going to go to some stores and find some towels (like walmart, target) that's close to the interior color, then get one can of the dye and prep and dye the towel.  Then I can drape it over the doors, seats, and get a feel for how it will look.

Cobalt Blue Racing Stripes is EXACTLY what I was thinking!!  I even designed it in Forza Motorsports and was showing it to my wife.  Looks SWEET.

Remember that my original plan was to paint the entire car Viper metallic blue with white stripes, but honestly, a black car with a blue interior and blue racing stripes - THAT'S UNIQUE - I might just stick with that!!

Imagine some 18" Wheels, powder-coated in black with blue accents or rings - how sweet would that look?!?

I appreciate all the support, guys.  I'll feel a lot better when I actually have the car in my possession, but I'm very, very confident.

I really want to catch a bus to Chicago and drive it home.  It'd be the greatest 8 hours of my life.  The only problem is all the spare parts fitting in the car - I might have to ship myself the exhaust (or just toss it - what's the chances of reusing it?  You can't sell it either as the exhaust seems to be the first part that owners replace.)

6 days and counting...
