Now, back to the "W", no other guesses?  :dunno:

If we get W out of the way we can move on to "D", "J" & "Q".  ;)
J = Superbirds
Q = Public Relations - Exec. Lease

but I never seen "D" or "W"... :clueless: :dunno: :1zhelp:

1970 Barracuda   (O^--^===|===^--^O)
1971 Barracuda   (O O {]{]{]|[}[}[} O O)
1970 Challenger  (O O [======R/T=] O O)

J is "Special Order". Examples - 999 paint, 9999 interior, 300 Hurst & Superbirds too.

D is Driver Training car.

W is Dealership Rental car.

Q is as Culver's stated, you need to know the Y code from the broadcast sheet to know which one it is.

M is Sales Bank (Y16). Early cars with the M were Sales Bank / Show car. The early ones would have been used for some promotional purpose and then sold as a used car after its intended engaement was done.

Some of the letter meanings change from one year to the next also, the above examples are all from 1970 cars.

Edited to add the M.

The 9999 car was a Cuda with a Gran Coupe interior. It was dated before that interior was "available" in the Cuda.

There was  "D" car posted on here for sale last winter, I have only seen a couple of them so far.

Looking at this old topic, I can say for sure that export cars have a E in the VON. I have the broadcast sheets and fender tags for my 70 HemiCuda and for my 70 Challenger 440 six pack. Both cars were built for export, Y09, have kilo speedo and export decal. Both VON begin with E.
If you are interested , can scan them for infos to Barry.

Scans would be great, thank you.  :wave:

Most export cars never left the states, I rarely get to see broadcast sheet copies for the ones that actually did.
