Ok, I finally tried a burnout
« on: October 25, 2008 - 07:27:34 PM »
I tried to do a burnout for you guys like you requested here in the past. Maybe next time I can get the camera to be more clearer. Not familiar with doing this type of stuff yet.   Wade (bullet99) may come over tomorrow, and we can try again in a different location. This place was only like 300ft to the top of the hill. I couldn't even tell when I shifted to second that it was still spinning. I ran out of room. T/A radials aren't the best for hooking up. I kept the revs down to 5600 rpms

I've had several sets of T/A radials. I don't recall them being very "smoky" tires. The 275's I had on my old '70 challenger hooked so good that my buddy with an mid 11 second 440 Dart refused to run me from a dig, and mine only did low 12's. I don't know if the tire compound has changed from back in the 80's or not. I had the batt in the trunk, a pinion snubber, springs clamps, an air shock on the right side & 30lbs of air in the tires. They worked really good when they were about 1/2 worn out.  :grinyes:

Nice lines Al, just need to shuffle to the middle pedal quickly until she smokes hard.
Then into 2nd on the spot and fish tail off into the sunset in your own leisure when you feel like it.

Thanks for the video.

Wade (bullitt99 came by today and did some major helping for me in the shop. It was really good to have someone around. We took the car out and tried another burnout today. At the end of Wades visit. He got to drive a few miles in my barracuda, but he didnt abuse it.

Here's a vid of what he took with his camera
