    Hi Barry,  i took your advice and sat down after i had dinner and then sat down slurping on a slushy to read your post.  Firstly, thankyou for sharing your experiance, i found it to be a great read buddy :chatting: sounds like you had the time of your life piecing that T/A back together and the copy of the write ups from the owners is a hoot to read.

    On a ligter note, that link picture you posted of them old blokes ;) in the White singlets :naughty: look as they have had major surgery to look this good now :poopoke: :smilielol:

    But thanks again for sharing with us, it is a great read :2thumbs:

    I just realized it was you in the photos with the car Barry, I was thinking I seen that guy before.   :crazy:  Guess I should have read more closely...lol.   Great story must have been a blast.   :2thumbs:

    What an amazing story.  I wasn't born until well after the muscle car era, but stories like this give me a hint at what it was like back then.  Cool!!

    I've got two questions though:

    1)  Is it true that none of the T/A's were ordered cars?

    and

    2)  What is the rhymn or reason to the fast ratio installation?  Which cars got them and why?

    Ok one more.

    3)  Are the answers to these questions the same for AAR's?

    1)  Is it true that none of the T/A's were ordered cars?

    Dealerships could (and did) order them is some cases. As an example, I have seen the orders for several of the T/As that went to Mr. Norms. Al Smith (one of his salesmen) ordered every one I saw the paperwork for.

    Some AARs were ordered by dealerships as well.


    2)  What is the rhyme or reason to the fast ratio installation?  Which cars got them and why?

    Every power steering AAR I have seen a broadcast sheet for has the fast ratio steering.

    Both the fast ratio steering & the std. ratio power steering were used on the T/As, I have no clue why.

    Both cars were also available with the manual steering box, also std. ratio.

    The article makes it sound like the power steering T/A's were advertised to all have had the fast ratio.  Maybe there was an assembly line mixup?

    Those crazy pink T/A's must have been ordered by female run dealerships.   :poopoke:
