Just thought I'd add that I hope you don't get stuck driving back in a snow storm.  I see it's about three hours from me and we've been having snow flurries...Good luck with the drive back, Jeff.  I'm sure you'll enjoy the extra power over the Stratus R/T...Just a little bit of an increase. :smilielol:

A Viper has to be a real handful in the snow.  :22yikes:

A couple years ago I was heading back to WyoTech from Harrisburg (where I live now) and got caught in a REAL bad snow storm.  It was pretty rough, but I HAD to get back to school.  I was driving through this LITTLE podunk town in West-Central PA (west of Johnstown) and the streets were entirely deserted.  Suddenly up ahead I see another car, and realized it was going real, real slow.  Even limping my summer-tire-equipped Stratus I caught up to it only to realize that it was a red, Viper SRT10!  A woman was driving it, and I was practically shouting at her - "Get that damned thing off the road!!!"

I intend never to let mine see that same situation.  Though I WILL say this - I'd rather deal with snow in a Viper than my 'Cuda!  At least MY 'cuda, with nonfunctional windshield wipers, no air ducting for defrosters, no heat control, blower fan inop, finicky dimmer switch...  :)  Yeah - Viper sounds kinda good at this point.

Well I just got off the phone with the seller a little while ago - what a nice guy.

He's an ATTORNEY - that tells us a lot.  :)  He's got a 68 Charger that they're putting an Indy all-aluminum crate motor in to.  I'm pretty sure I heard him say "800 horsepower."

But he's real nice - he even called the DMV to get info on the temp tags.

I'm going to be getting to his place around 7:45am - he's going to take me around his area just a bit to kinda teach me how to drive the car - he said the 565 lb-ft of torque will get away from you REAL quick.  Then he even offered to follow me to Libertyville to the DMV there, but they told him that as long as I have the Title and a Buyer's Agreement, I'll be okay.  The DMV will issue me a 7-day temporary for $10 - that'll give me time to get to PA the following Friday.

I already purchased a plane ticket from Columbus to O'Hare in Chicago.  It cost me $70 more than taking a bus, but will be FAR less hassle.  It'll also get me there sooner, giving me time to get to the DMV.

This is really going to happen!!  I can't believe it...  I have so much nervous energy.

5 days...  I have 5 days...  15 years of dreaming ENDS in 5 days...  :)

:iagree:  Photos or ban!!! :lol2:

The previous response was supposed to be pointing at John's post.  Jeff, that is very cool you're going to be getting a Viper before you're 30...I'm hoping to eventually own one, but I still need to finish the final year of college and land a great job.

So what about these plates?  This is proof, by the way, that video games can have their usefulness.  :)

SNIPER or VENOMUS (venomous) sound like some good ones.  Or the idea for VIPERMN or VIPRMAN would be cool, considering it's your new screen name (Like I have RTBOOST as my avatar at the Stealth/3000GT site).

One tip on driving a Viper is not to down shift in a corner. I made that mistake at the SRT track days in the rain (use to downshifting in corners in my front wheel drive srt 4) and kicked it sideways. HAve fun, be safe and enjoy the hell out of it.

Yeah I don't want a plate like "BADASP" or "VENOM" - nothing about snakes or poison - those are actually TOO common among Vipers.  I want something more specific to me - like VIPRMAN or FINALLY.  I had also thought about "DMCMTRU" but I don't think people would get it.  Lastly, I thought about getting "VPRSNXT" on my Stratus - I've wanted that tag for YEARS - and then "TOLDUSO" on the Viper.  But that would only make sense if the cars were sitting side by side.

I'm really thinking it has to be a variation of "ViperMan" - I've been calling myself that since before college.  So it's either "VPR MAN," "VIPRMAN," or "VIPERMN" - which might make people think of "Minnesota..."
