Thansk for the comments guys.  Here is some of the story on it.   Very sadly, the gentleman who I purchased it from passed away this summer, he bought it in 1979.  He was the guy who drag raced it, ran low 12s with a non numbers 340.  He had a VERY bad stroke about 12 years ago which very sadly left him off very bad physically.   He had a tremendously hard time speaking, or doing about anything else, so I got limited history from him.  I really liked the guy, life really dealt him an unfair hand, but he is in a better place now.

He had been the police Chief in of all places, Plymouth OH, AND, lived on Plymouth street..

Here is the information from the buddy of the original owner, all these guys new each other.

Wow those 80\'s pics bring back alot of memories. Grew up and knew dave very well, and raced with him for yrs. Dave was our police chief in town and let us young guys race at the edge of town and also ran us with the police cruiser a few times. Its funny dave is gone now but i work with the origanal owner of the car...

Yep Dave did pass about 3 or 4 months ago. And Gary is still working where I
work and he was telling me about how when  Dave was a cop in town he  would
pull him over just to try and buy the car, took several times but after he
had no place to work on it he finally sold it to Dave

I did stop and visit with the 2nd owner, and showed him pictures of work I had done on the car, most recently this spring.   I feel bad that I never got back down there with the car to take him out for a spin in it.

I do think he was happy I didn't make it into a trailer queen, but kept it true to its heritage, it has 4.30s in it, and with traction should run at least in the high 12s.   The buildsheet was in the backseat when I bought it several years ago, possibly not since it was built.   I was amazed Dave, being a racer didn't toss everything, but he raced it with everything in tact, console cassette, roadlamps etc..   Not to insult racers, but they often get rid of the unessentials, like fendertags!   Dave kept it all together, the numbers block was under his workbench.

Thank you for asking to use the pictures rather than just taking them.   Yes, fine to use them, like most, I love seeing in the day pictures like these also.
