rockauto.com ROCKS !
« on: October 30, 2008 - 09:12:05 AM »
Sprung a pinhole leak in my tank last night.  Started shopping around for a new one.  I think this is the only original part left on the car and was over due for replacement anyway.

Napa - $547.00 plus tax

Advance - $538.00 plus tax

Autozone - $397.00 plus tax

Quanta.com - $246.78 with shipping

Rockauto - $164.00 shipped to my door. no tax. Used the 5% coupon code.

All tanks were Spectra # CR8D. Same part number as Quanta. That's a heck of a savings :bananasmi

I've been using them for awhile now and have yet to have a problem.  I actually really like using them.  I got a ton of stuff for my Mother-in-law's PT cruiser and a radiator for the Chally and saved alot of cash.  Also, for some reason even if I choose the cheapest shipping option I always get it in 2 days!  So they get a  :2thumbs: from me.

I think he means he lives in Canada, the tanks are made in Canada, yet Rock Auto based in the US can sell them cheaper than he can get in his own country.
Another double thumbs up from Rock Auto. I was talking to my internet department today about studying their business model. I have been buying from them for 10 years and have never had to make a phone call to them to get something straightened out. Best prices, no backorders, and quick delivery. Only complaint is you do not know where their shipments are coming from. I have paid for next day or second day airs before and had the box the next day anyway since it shipped out of the same city I live in!!

I find Rockauto to be hard to bet when it comes to price and i am in Australia.  Only problem is they charge at premium shipping rates, i have had friends recieve, and re-forward on to me, for a discounted shipping cost :2thumbs: great people here at C-C.com :jumping:

I've taken tons of parts for my challenger and daily driven lincoln from Rockauto during the last few years and it has worked like a charm. Even the shipping to Finland is in acceptable levels when the items are shipped only from one warehouse (usually leads into some combination testing with the part manufacturers). I have once received a shipment with one item missing and one wrong item. I sent couple of photographs from the shipping manifests & the parts I received and they sent me the correct parts after that without problems. So it is a big  from me

That was fast. Ordered on Thursday.  Tank arrived today. Best part about Fedex ground is they deliver on Saturday at no extra charge.   :bananasmi
