Thanks for trying, but yeah pics won't be of any help after the auction is over. I can live without the pics because I have pictures from when it was sold the last two times. I have a pretty good idea on how bad it is and like I said before the frame on this thing is shot. If I can remember correctly the previous owner said it was underwater during Katrina. These e-bay bidders are nuts, they just keep trying to out bid each other and it still has 4 days to go. I really hope I can get this thing because I really need it.

Thanks anyway,
Chris

On the bright side, it was actually sold with the title and dashboard (according to the seller), so it might not be a rebody anymore.

You're down in Virginia, so not too far away.... Theres a chain of these Junkyards here in Md called Brandywine. I went to 2 or 3 of them a couple years ago and found about 3 or 4 Challengers between all of them.... The only thing left was mangled parts but they all had Rooves..... Roofs?? either way.

It may be an option, they arent close to me but if i find something I will let you know.

Maybe start a "Wanted" thread......  :chatting:

Chris,

If it makes you feel any better despite the picture, which are grim to start with, that car is proably a lot worse off than it even appears in the pictures. This is most likely why the car has already change hands a few times already! Figure the cost of the car plus shipping and the headache of retrieveing good parts off the car (if any) you might have been able to purchase the parts you need either new or good condition used!!

BTW: ChallengerHK, what ever became of that 70 challenger sitting in a field near your house. This might be exactly what Chris needs and I thought the guy wanted $500.00 for the car. That car actually seems to be in much better shape than the e-bay one.

I know the car is pretty bad, but I just needed the roof, windshield, windshield channels, lower windshield corners and then I was going to strip the car of all the good parts and cut off what I needed and then I was going to pass the rest of the parts on to the cc members. I was never going to ship the car, I was planning on taking my friends trailer down there and picking it up. I didn't care if it had a VIN or not because it was going to get scrapped.

If you guys could keep an eye out for me on a similar car with a similar price not too far away (I live in Virginia Beach)that would be great. I don't have a lot of money to spend for these parts so I have really been trying to get what I need for as cheap as I can. I am still looking for a good clean roof possibly, just not too far away, and I will need a bette windshield than the one I have, I also need the windshield channels and a rear sway bar and the front sway bar LCA brackets. Any help locating this parts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all you input guys,
Chris

Hey Chris,

check out Safelite or any other local windshield place. I got one for my Dads Barracuda for about $125, brand new. Specify AC or Not. AC cars had the Blueish Tint at the Top, Non AC cars are totally Clear.....

I was told Safelitte that there may even be some original Glass around and they can do a search for you. But the Cuda/Challenger Winshields were used in quite a few apps and should not be to hard to find

Hey Chris.  Good to see a young person working on an E body.  My windshield came  thru Napa.  About $150.   As far as the car in the field in  Maxton, Nc. near ChallengerHK........we don't know where it went.  The last time I went by there she was gone.  it was pretty rough too.   Good luck with your resto..........David

Here we go again.  Now it's just a front clip with a title...

I read the questions to the buyer and they clearly stated that they have the vin tag and the title to the car eventhough its only a "parts car"! I sent an email to the person telling them that what they are doing is illegal and they have been reported to local and federal authorities. Lets see how fast they change the description!!! :stirpot: :poopoke:

You have to specify tint or not. You could get either with or without A/C.

I learned that here also. I have the build sheets and never caught it. This is a great site.
