beware of Year One Qualty
« on: November 03, 2008 - 01:59:51 PM »
NOTE about recent YEAR ONE ORDER:

Placed a large order in May, got most of it in July, and have already reported that the SEAT COVERS for my 72 Cuda did not fit well at all. Had to pay my upholster $$$$ to cut them down and re sew. Legendary seems to be the only player in this field.

Finally got 3 wheel opening moldings after 3 months, they did not match up at all. Still looking for the 4th.

I know you are trying to be competitive in prices, but quality matters here!

Year One is only a parts house not the manufacturer. Some items like seat covers are made by more than one company but most are made by the same vendor no matter who sells them.

It's like blaming the local 7/11 for their bad tasting burritos. My Legendary covers are mint and fit perfectly. :2cents:

I see this post is also about them being back ordered and taking a long time to ship. I can relate to that with them. I have an account with them. Sometimes it takes them a month before they ship an item to me.

As far as the seat covers go, do you have good new foam? Or is it original and maybe worn down some? I have legendary in mine and they are great.

I personally think YearOne is overpriced, but have been forced to buy from them in the past due to the availability of the parts. Sorry to hear about your experience. I'd try R/T Specialties or RPM restoration parts to name a few. Since I've used this site I've found a wealth of info and sources for parts that I never knew existed. Check out the site here. You may well find as I did that there are other vendors out there with just as good or better parts and prices than YearOne!!

:iagree: I have a few brand new YO pieces like a trunkpan and hood pins etc. but I have never bought directly from year one because they are way overpriced. Just look around elsewhere first.

I put all Ledendary stuff in my RR. Everything including the door pannels fit very nice. I'd have no problem using them again. In fact next summer we are redoing the seat in the Duster and that is where I'm getting them from.
