so you can do it with the dash in the car also.... Id rather have the windshield removed if needed???

I put my dashpad in with the dashframe still in the car. IF your intentions are to use a dashcap for a few years, then go to a new dashpad, I'd say just wait and save your money. The effort this takes, you will only want to do one time. 

I don't really see how you can put a dashcap on properly with the dashpad still connected to the dashframe inside the car.   :clueless:  Maybe I'm wrong there...
