i bought my first challenger yesterday!
« on: November 03, 2008 - 06:48:33 PM »
I am so excited.  i picked up my new challenger yesterday.  Ive always been a huge mopar fan but waited way too long before deciding to buy one.  I have realized over the last few years that the longer i wait the more its gonna cost so i buckled down and bought one.  Its a 1970 318/904 car is really good condition with some T/A styling which i plan on redoing correctly.  The car runs like new with working A/C.  It has very minimal rust, no hole just a few bubbles.  I think i got a really good deal on it... $13,500.  It does have the numbers matching engine but being a 318 car i dont know that it really matters.  My Plans... finish the T/A clone correctly with the right decals, 340-6, and maybe some rallye upgrades.  Im not sure if you could get a T/A in this color, but i staying with it, Thye green grows on you like a fungus.  Here is a photo from the "For Sale" add where i foud the car.  Please let me know what you think, opinions and advice.  I will get some better photos as soon as the weather clears up.

Welcome to the site.  Some people don't like green cars, but that's a sweet one - and I really like that T/A hood.  Nice find.

I will most likely change the interior to black, dont know if i should refinish or see if there is any one in need of good condition green parts,  Its all in pretty good shape so i have to tear it apart

The guy I bought her from is a big b body fan,  he sold me this one to help finance a superbird clone.  he was asking 15,500 which i would have paid... I asked him the bottom dollar., and he told me 13,5.  I couldnt get to the bank quick enough.  i couldnt sleep the night before worrying it would be sold before i could make the trip to pick it up.  I have had a few people tell me this car is worth about 18 but i dont know... dont care, its not for sale

That is a great looking car. :clapping: I'd say you did very well. And a nice rim blow steering wheel. How about some pics of the dash and under hood? We love pics here. Funny I just looked at a green '72 Challenger this past weekend at a local cruise-in. I like the color and the T/A hood. Sounds like you have a good plan for it. Should be very do-able. So what part of the country are you from?? The car looks very solid. How's the undercarriage?? Glad you got your dream car and welcome aboard! :2thumbs: You'll find plenty of friends and lots of advice and useful info here!!
