70 vs 72 nose

I'm still a relative newbie to these ebodies, so forgive my ignorance.

The 72 Cuda I have has a 70 nose installed... or at least partially installed. Previous owner started down this road, but I'm thinking I might want to take it back to a 72 nose.

I've got pretty much all the pieces for the '70 nose. What needs to be changed to get it back to a '72?

All you will need is a 71 to 74 Header Panel as they are different to the 70 style. and a 72 to 74 Grille, and from their you should be right, can you post a picture of the front as you may be able to keep the bumper you already have

What about the valance? Are they the same?

Yes the lower Valance is interchangable between 70, 72 to 74. Only the 71 had a different Valance.  You will need a lower grille insert for a 72 to 74 as this is where the front indicators are mounted in.  That lower header panel section and bracketry you have posted are a complete unit for 70 only and removes as one unit.
