Bad Buyer = darreningram
« on: November 04, 2008 - 05:53:18 PM »
This guy wins a few of my auctions, sends me an email asking me to wait to send him an invoice, because he is overseas and may want to buy more of my stuff. No problem, but I never hear from him again. Until today, 4 Negative Feedbacks!!! :swear: I'm doing everything that I can to have them removed :pullinghair: I was up to 99.6% at one time with just over 900 total feedback, then along comes this joker :villagers:

So now , here is what potential buyers will see when they check my feedback. Don't think that this won't cost me in lost sales!!! I'm MAD  :ebay:

I'd put a reply to his bad feedback on there Lumpy.  Let your bidders know what happened.  A good explanation goes a long way to a bidder.  The hard knocks of eBay suck.  >:(

Thanks, I've been so busy trying to get them removed, I never thought of that. It just chaps me, why someone would leave not one, but four big, fat, red, negs, when he never even paid for the items. :pullinghair:

Have you had any further communication with the buyer?? How long a span of time from his request till his negative feedback?? That really bites that he would do this without any communication. :swear: Any idea why he did this?? I had a similar situation where I had a bum buyer that refused to pay, I left him negative feedback, but he in return did the same to me. I think with the new changes in place that a seller can't leave negative feedback in response to a buyer's neg feedback. (tit for tat feedback). I am really sorry for you. Unfortunately it sometimes happens in the Ebay world when you've done everything RIGHT. You could do as I did and put a small note or simple explaination in your future listings. Something like: "I am an honest & up front seller. I will do all I can to make for a smooth, honest sale. Please contact me if there are ANY issues or misunderstandings before leaving negative feedback due to hurt feelings or a simple misunderstanding that can be resolved before any negative feedback is left".  Reading the comment doesn't sound like you did anything bad. Without reading your post I would just think that maybe you were just slow. I had a buyer that wouldn't respond for a long time after the sale. Turns out he had a death in the family!! People need more patience and understanding!!

I'll make you a special deal BIN for a penny, and I'll charge you $69.99 to ship it to you.

He said he sent me an email, but I looked for it, and all I found was one that he sent me, wanting to but the rest of them OFF Ebay. That's a big no no, according to Ebay, so I forwarded his email to them.  :stirpot: I hope to have this resolved quickly.

Even though on Ebay a seller can't leave negative feedback doesn't mean that you can't speak your piece in the comment section.

Ebay really screwed sellers when they took away the ability to leave negative feedback for buyers.

I had a buyer that bought one of my items using Buy-It-Now and then emails me saying my shipping is too high.  I linked her to the UPS calculator and she came back saying the highest she'd go was roughly 1/2 of UPS or I get negative feedback.  I kept my cool and said "Pay, don't pay.  I'm not worried about the feedback".  She gave in.

Sellers are being held hostage by Buyers at this point.

That sucks Lumpy. :villagers: Nothing worse than unfair feedback. I remember my first one on Trade-Me (NZs eBay). I sold a DVD, a good one of course, new, unopened, MoPar, etc. Next few days I get an email notifying me of - feedback being placed. Red smilie face and this chump running his mouth. Man I was pissed!!! Worst part is, he never contacted me. I had no chance of offering a full refund and fixing the problem. First I heard about it was the feedback, totally unfair and the buyer was lying through his teeth. But, it was better to get it out the way as chances of staying on 100% as a seller in this day and age are slim, too many angry people out there hahaha. Once again, bummer. Still, in life, negative feedback is very insignificant so don't sweat it mate, things could be worse.  ;)

:iagree: I would say a 1/3 of my bidders are now bad since this policy change. It used to happen once in a while. It's now to the point where I don't want to list anything. I didn't like it when they changed it but I never thought it would get this bad. Are you guys seeing as many bad bidders ?

What's the point of even having feedback for the buyer if you can't leave something negative about them if they do something bad?  :clueless:  Then, in theory, all feedback is positive and really, IMO, useless as it is then assumed that all buyers have positive feedback and no negative feedback.  :dunno:

Feel bad for you, lumpy.  :(

To top it all off, they restricted the number of DVDs that I can sell in a 30 day period. I listed over 100 DVD series box sets last week and they shut me down. What's the matter Ebay?? Am I selling too much?? DVDs are not my normal category, but I got a sweet deal on a collection of over 300 and thought I could make a quick buck, but NOOOOO!!! They say I can have the restriction removed in 90 days. Yeah, I think that's a little after the Christmas Season. But who am I to complain, I've only been a member for 5 years, pay monthly store fees, sold over $100k on Ebay last year and paid them over $8000 in listing fees. Freakin' LOOSERS!!!

Sorry too hear ! I almost wonder if they are trying to put themselfs out of business. I've sold over a 100k there as well. I'm seriously considering not using them going forward. I used to love the market place but now it's just one large headache.
