Let's see what happens when the honeymoon is over and the reality of the economy sets in.  I'm hoping for the best because Canada get's sucked down with US economy.

I think either one would have been a good choice. Even though I voted for McCain, I'll still support Obama as our new president.

I hope that he can heal our country.

P.S. can someone change the title of this thread to "New President"? I think it would be a better description.

I hope he does a good job. He was a civil rights attorney so I think he'll be more for the people.

I'm glad to see Bush go. I wonder if there's going to be any prosecution or culpability for things that have happened over the last 8 years, starting with 9/11, then the invasion of Iraq, outrages profits by oil companies, the recession, the financial institions that failed and their leaders that walked away with milliions. Whatever happens to Bush won't bother me unless they make him the chaiman of Chrysler!

First indicator is that foreign stocks went up while ours went down.

Make of it what you will,

We should just build a big wall around our country, and just let everybody else fend for themselves, Good Luck!!

Yeah that worked for China and East Berlin, so why not...
The US is unable to be self sufficient.  As are most countries in the world.

I think it's crazy that most of the world has this negative opinion about our country, after what we did to save their butts in WWII and other conflicts around the world in the last 60 years. Pretty sad really.

Yeah I think the Japanese, Germans, Koreans, Vietnamese, Russians/USSR, Cubans, etc... should all be happy as punch to have the US and there military as the global moderator.

I'm just glad that election is over.  I hope that the Obama government doesn't take Canada for granted like so many presidents have. IE soft wood lumber tariffs, wheat tariffs, import duties on Canadian made products NAFTA? What's that?

I hope that the voters don't loose interest in politics since the Obama now has the title as the first black president.

I think that's the California BDS thing (Bush Derangement Syndrome)
Nothing wrong though with taxpayer funded sex change operations there in Nancy Pelosi's SF. So they passed a referendum in California banning same sex marriage? Why you intolerant mean spirited people!  :nono: :smilielol:

Once we had Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope & Johnny Cash. Now we have Obama, No Hope and No Cash!

I changed it for you.... Did you see howard stern when he went into downtown harlem and asked the black community opposites and tricky questions just to prove a point.... one question was " So how do you feel about Obama and Palin for the next Presidency" ..... they were in favor of it  :clueless:

:dunno:  :clueless:  Using an old Russian proverb here, :  "Expect the worst but hope for the best."  I don't care who won or who lost this election, I fear we are in for a hard row to hoe. I'm glad I will be retired come Dec. 31st. at least my taxes will be less $$$$$ but not %%%%% wise. And hopefully it will take longer to lose the next $100K than it did the last one.  :roflsmiley:

I went to the polls, but I did not place a "presidential" vote, just the local and state issues. I was determined to not vote for either of them. Folks I'm about as depressed and embarrased about my county as can be imagined........ depressed because of the present financial crisis, embarrased because the political system has failed the Americian people if this election offered the best canadates available. However I WILL  support the President of The United States of America ! !    :wavingflag:

LMFAO, Bush charged? with what? He didnt do anything without consent of the U.S. Congress. All the liberals are running and hiding but they all wanted the war back when it started. How short peoples memories are. If Bill Clinton did not get impeached for his antics in the White House I dont think Bush has too much to worry about. If I remember correctly the economy did not go into the tank until after the Dems took control of Congress.

That was the funniest E-Mail anyone ever sent me.

These people knew NOTHING other than Obama was black. It was truly sad to hear how stupid they were. They loved the idea of staying in Iraq until will win the war.   :screwy: Yet they voted for Osama Obama??   :clueless:

You're exactly right. I usually don't get into these kind of discussions but I can't take it anymore. Everyone wants to blame everything on Bush. His approval rating was about 55% two years ago. Then the Dems took over congress and had this laundry list of things they were going to accomplish in the first 100 days..... So what did they accomplish. Nothing that's what and who gets the blame. Bush, go figure.
I'm done sorry and for the rant.  :villagers:

Okay, So Obama has the House and Senate and all the support of the voters that put him into office. Let's see what he gets done. I know he's all for freedom, choice (The Freedom of Choice Act), and fairness(The Fairness Doctrine), and he wants to take the criminals guns away. Sounds like a pretty good plan to me. Lower taxes, Federal Healthcare, heck, he even wants to help people out with their IRA's. ( please use your Sarcasm Detector).
