Let me say that I did not vote for him because he is a Liberal, I really don't care what color he is, because I am not racist. But it is too bad that many people are.

I agree, whether some believe it or not. I was thinking, can you imagine if Obama was really dark skinned.
Someone like Patrick Ewing, with really strong African features would have stood no chance even if he was like JFK, just fact.

I have not seen anywhere stating 61% of white people voted for Obama.
I did see a poll on CNN that stated it was something like 52-48 in favour of Obama? :dunno:

Carl, You make a good point. Obama is just light enough for our country to elect him. That really is sad. We are all one race, The Human Race!!! Now don't get me started on those damn Martians!!

I think that's the California BDS thing (Bush Derangement Syndrome)
Nothing wrong though with taxpayer funded sex change operations there in Nancy Pelosi's SF. So they passed a referendum in California banning same sex marriage? Why you intolerant mean spirited people!  :nono: :smilielol:

To be fair I think it would happen in a lot of countries, England would perhaps be worse IMO.

Close to MA? I'm in South Jersey. Much closer to those that cling to their guns and religion than those that choose to mutilate thier sex organs and listen to Show tunes. I'm just confused by the double standards there. How can you pay for sex change operations with tax money and then ban same sex marriage?? :clueless:

I viewed this election as the one in '04...During that election, I ended up voting for who I felt was the "greater of two evils", manly because his political party believed in keeping YOUR hard earned money in the hands of whoever makes it.  I never understood why liberals feel the need to create a free-loading society that doesn't believe in the consequences of their own actions...:dunno:
That said, I didn't even bother voting this year (remember I'm near Dane (Liberal) County in Madison, WI), but will say this: Barack has a lot on his plate and will be considered a "poster child" to his circumstances, but hopefully some things can be revamped without overstepping some of the rights I believe should be allowed as a U.S. citizen. :2cents:  Regardless of the political party in power, it always seems that the law-abiding citizens get screwed in nearly every aspect when it comes to political decisions...I'm still waiting for that one to change...So in a way, I guess I was "ready for change".

I give the Dems credit for sucessfully blaming Bush for all the things they themselves caused, NAFTA that has sent 75% of our industry overseas, the sub-prime loan crisis they championed, the price of gas after blocking drilling for decades and even the war in the sense that most of them authorized Bush to start it. Regime change in Iraq was Bill Clinton's policy. Bush just carried it out and the Dems did little to stop it. It was a bad idea only when things started to go bad, when it was too late to stop it and when it would have been a disaster to leave before it was finished.

I blame the people who voted Obama in for giving the Dems what they believe is a mandate to do more of the same, as I'm positive McCain would have made those who have caused our problems famous and he would have wore out his veto pen cutting out all of their Pork. There would have been blood all over the place. :swear:

It's simple,  There's lots of them and they vote.

Many of you all start out by saying that it is not about race then you go through this long diatribe about liberal this and liberal that and hard earned this and that.

Lastly, if anyone thinks Ms. Palin is capable of being President you are being intellectually dishonest.

I see your racism and raise you sexism!

There is definately more to it than just that. I will stay center and just say the California is "unique". I lived there for about two years off and on (Coronado/Ventura) and it was a fun time but I could see it was a little stuck on itself. I have alot of family there (mother's side Sacremento/ father's Bakersfield) and they are all Right leaning, gun owning, people who believe in work so not all Californians are bad apples.
Get a young Californian to tell you about any other State or the name of political figures! The States between Vegas and New York are just known as "the Middle". And the use of the word "then" instead of "than" just erks me, it seems like it is taught the wrong way in the schools there.

How is not wanting to give your hard earned mony away to someone who hasn't earned it racist ?  Unless you're trying to say there's a disproportionate number of minorities on welfare ?

Being a liberal is not a race, it's a philosiphy of belief system.

I want to know how many of you read his plan?

Which plan ?  He changed it every time he woke up in the morning and read the polls.  The plan that defines rich as $300,000 or the plan that defined it as $250,000 or $200,000.  I may not be very bright, but I can see where he's headed.

All that said, he's still my president and I'll do everything I can to make this country work.
