The insurance company's adjuster is dragging his feet. Not a problem though, my daughter's boy friend works for a competitor in the claims section. He is coaching me on what I need to file a formal complaint with the state Department of Insurance. I guess they just love stuff like this and love thumping on insurance companies. It has bee over a month now and the adjuster has still not submitted a "valuation".
As the car will be torn apart for awhile anyway I am having the shop put together a custom dash with Autometer gauges, toggle switches, etc. I am also adding subframe connectors and a six-point roll bar and better bucket seats. Finally, (at least for now) if the price is right I am looking at swapping out the 727 for a Tremec 5 speed tranny. The overdrive sure would be nice on the freeway. I may swap the 3.23 gears for a set of 3.90s. I will have to see how things pan out.
Yup boys and girls, my old new car will be back, older and newer than ever.
