Looking at Cudas on ebay and came across this 1972 Cuda. What is the tube the right side of the trunk? Unless I'm crazy never seen this before. Looks like a gas filler neck!

that is a vent pipe.  Not sure if it is a California emmissions only, but it may be.

Yeah, gas venting.  It has like 4 metal gas tubes that go up and curl around.  I think I remember it having a cap on it.

every e-body I have ever owned has had that tube. I did not know they came without them until I became a member here.

No, my '70 has that.  It's a vent tube for emissions controls.

Mine has it too. Built for International Export....  :dunno: Its there for show, but my gas tank vents are all plugged now....  :bigshades:

That's part of the evaporative control system (ECS) that was put on cars sold in CA and maybe elsewhere. There are three or four small tubes that run up through it. One of the tubes is comes off  the breather and runs back to the gas tank by the fuel line. Another tube in it comes from an vapor expansion chamber built into the top of the gas tank.  Its all about capturing gas vapors so they don't become air pollution.

We have it in our 71 cuda, that was not built for CA. we ordered the car and it was built for East Coast delivery
