You don't put a million miles on a car playing on the internet! :roflsmiley:

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

That car still runs like a bat out of hell. Laid down about 300 feet of rubber leaving my shop. This is also the first big block Mopar I ever rode in back in the late 80s. Bout wet my pants on that one!!!

I have so many stories about this car I could share one once a week for the better part of a year, so ill start with this one...

One Saturday night when I was about 16 or 17 my stepdad let me take the Challenger for the night.  I wanted to go pick up this girl that I was interested in. She had about three friends with her so we piled into the car.  She was into the car so this was a huge plus for me.  We were out doing dumb teenage stuff and the night was going pretty good, then I decided to show out a little... you know, just to impress the girl.  We went to The Recreation Complex in Fort Mill where I had a nice big parking lot to cut up.  I mashed the throttle and started cutting doughnut after doughnut.  I had completely filled this parking lot with smoke. It seriously looked like a building was on fire.  Once I started I couldn’t stop… then the night took a turn on me.  Some where around the 20th or so doughnut the just shut off and came to a stop.  With the engine noise gone I could hear a terrifying cry coming from the back seat.  My girl’s friend looked like she just witnessed a murder.  She was screaming and crying to let her out of the car.  At this point the only thing I was concerned with was why my Dads car just shut off.  I am already thinking of a lie to try to get out of this one.  So here is the visual. All five of us are sitting in the car, the girl in the back seat is screaming like she was giving birth, The car is filled with tire smoke with virtually no visibility, My girl is trying to calm her friend, I trying to get the car started, my girl is now pissed because my main concern was the car and not her friend.  I got out of the car to look under the hood and wouldn’t you know it, some nice gentleman from the sheriffs department was standing right there.  I couldn’t see the blue lights through the smoke but once it started to clear there they were plain as day.  He took us all out of the car and gave me the most embarrassing lecture.  I can’t remember much of it other than this girl from the back seat was still crying and telling the cop how scared she was and how she thought she was going to die.  In my defense, it’s hard to hear much of anything when you have all six barrels at like 110%.  Anyways, to end the night the cop let me off completely.  He told me to “take my Dads car home before he took it home for me”.  The car had flooded I guess because It started back up after sitting for a while.  I had the take the other girl home while listening to my girl fuss at me because of what I did.  She didn’t talk to me for about a week…  The only friend I had left that night was the car.  Good Times!
