Wow!  I fall off the earth for 8 months and I miss all of the good stuff. The car looks awesome CP.  :ylsuper: Keep at it man.

A job and cash flowing in the more desired direction, I should be able to get after mine this spring. Thanks for the visual motivation.

I ordered 9.550 length pushrods & it works in the one position where I measured from ,, the other 5 rockers I tested the pushrod with I have zero lash & the valve is open minimally so if 1 full turn is .062 I probably need .050 shorter or the others may be too far out on the adjuster screw , I retested the measurement in three other locations & seem to be able to get the adjustment with my measuring tool turned in 1 full rotation so .050 less , it just chokes me that generally I have measured 1 pushrod & it has worked out , somehow as usual Murphy showed up & I got the measurement off the one rocker that needed a slighly longer pushrod & the rest need the shorter one  :banghead:.
I called Smith Bros & they will fix the pushrods for $4 each + shipping both ways so more than 1/2 the cost of new pushrods  :pullinghair:

I will sell them to you , they are a 5/16 ball both ends , 3/8" tube if that will work

still waiting for the pushrods but I fabricated a fuel line to the 6 Pack & cut & fit all the ign wires today

Pretty close then Neil? You have put that car back together pretty fast if you ask me. I wish I could get motivated to do something. About the time I have a mind to work on my car I go back to school and on top of working that kills a lot of daylight.

It would have been back together faster but it has gone together quickly anyway , I should be installing the engine next week

Please post lots of pics of your "from underneath" engine install. I am contemplating doing it that way when I go back in with my engine.  :cheers:

put the engine in from the bottom is way easier than top side. Even with a hemi it is still easier.

once you have done an install from the bottom you will never go back to trying to get it in from the top , from the bottom the whole engine can be assembled headers included & the body just lowered over the entire assy , no scratches , it just slips right into place

No ,I did it tonight just put stands undr the frame near the front spring hangars, you use a floor jack under the front frame rail to lift the nose of the car using the weight of the diff to counter balance the nose . Actually tonight I just lifted on the front bumper & had my friend ratchet up a 6 ton Tall stand to hold the body up while we rolled the engine out on Snowmobile pads , then I lifted again while my friend lowered the stand & we set the car level again

 :iagree: WAY BETTER and yes you can do this in the average garage with a cherry picker.

made a small rolling jig to support k-frame to tail shaft mount, with small 3 in casters on 4x4 frame. In the picture i made a jig to bolt to the ends of the rails at the bumper mounting points and lift the car up with the cherry picker, Blocked the rear wheel and also let the air out to help increase the lift angle. this worked very well. this is a 440 with headers, power steering in a
70 Road Runner "wifes ride"  only issue we had was the wife was controlling the lift as it came down my fingures were in between the header and the shock tower. Ouchy, other tahn that it went right in,
As CP said once you do it this way you'll never put one over the top again,
