:iagree: WAY BETTER and yes you can do this in the average garage with a cherry picker.

I haven't done it (yet), but Scott (dodgeboys) used to have some great photos of his engine install using a cherry picker in his garage.  Looked like it worked real slick.  Unfortunately, the photos have been kicked off the server ( :swear: Photobucket people!!) , but maybe he can repost them here.

You do not need a Cherry picker to do this , you can use the weigth of the rear of the car to counterbalance & just lift the front of the car & support it with a tall stand while you roll the engine under the car . Up here we can buy these snowmobile pads that support over 1000 lbs & I just set the engine & K frame on the pads & roll it under the car , then lower the nose of the car down to get the K frame bolts started & jack up the rear of the tranny & slide in the cross bolts through the tranny crossmember & T bar frame & jack up the nos of the car & tighten all the bolts , it will take less than 1 hr to do all the work to have the engine & suspension in place

well day what 12 or so , I got the pushrods , set the valves & buttoned up the engine , lifted the car & rolled the engine & trans under the body , lowered the body over the engine & bolted up the K frame & tranny X member , got most of the connections done under the car , driveshaft & Z bar as well as speedo cable , reverse light , shift rods , inspection cover , fuel lines , heater hoses & battery cables all installed & connected.
