nose panel (header panel) question...
« on: November 08, 2008 - 02:42:50 PM »
I found either a 1970 or a 71 cuda nose panel and I was wondering if they're the same on the 72-74's.

Can I just swap 'em out?

I need a new one for my 72.  Thanks!

1970 panels are different from the rest.  I believe that 1971-1974 are all the same.

I have one laying around too.

The reason I have one laying around is because when I bought the convertible, one of the people that owned it changed the grill to a 72-74 style because they liked that one better.  Of course I then had to find the correct one for a 70 and the grill.   :banghead:

do you know what the difference is for 70?  im building a 71 right now, and need one, but whatever i find is going to be cut up and changes anyway, so if the difference is minimal, it might not matter for me.  are you selling the one for a 70?  sorry i didnt have time to read through the posts to see if that was asked.  thanks!

There is a big difference for the 1970 as the valance holds the grill in place.  All I have is one for a 71-74 and it is for sale if anyone is interested.  Everything is for sale if the price is right except for my black 73.  That will never be for sale unless we hit 7 figures.   :money:

how much do you want for it?  and what kind of shape is it in?  do you have the lower front valance too?

71 Header panels are slightly different than the 72-74 models where the grill attaches.  The light blue one in the picture is a 74 and the darker blue one is a 71.  A lot of times you will see the 72-74 headers sold on e-bay as 71-74.  When I was looking for a 71, I would always ask the seller for a picture of the underside.

ohh, thats good information to have?  I wont be using the stock grill for the car, I'm having one machined for it, but I'd like to start off with the correct stuff too, it'd just be one last battle to fight.  Is anyone selling a 71 header panel?  I'm in need of one.
