Viton Valve seals

I ordered a set of blue viton valve seals for my 440, they came in a bag with no markings and while they fit I'm not sure what to think of them. they're blue and have a spring top and bottom, not the regular metal band like most have. anyone know if these are any good? what is the best positive valve seal you can buy? I don't want to have to do this again.

I'm trusting CP will correct me if I'm wrong but to use positive seals you have to have the right valves.  I just changed mine (non positive) and it only took me about an hour and a half.  I borrowed a spring compressor from a friend (I bought one afterwards) and it really was pretty easy.  Just make sure you don't drop any keepers.  I dropped one and lost it, luckily my friend only lives about 8 miles away and he gave me another one.

I have teflon positive seals on now but they were modified for break in, not saying it was worth the effort but that's the way he does it.

I use the steel body rubber lined seals they have the smallest diameter to fit iside springs & are the strongest design 
 I can`t remember seeing blue ones

If they have springs that grip the valve guide they should be fine as long as they fit inside the springs. I wouldn't use the big umbrella seals that don't seal on the guide (like the OEM parts)

Any brand? the all look the same but I don't know. viton or teflon better?

I'm not a big fan of the teflon seals on a street engine. I like the rubber ones that grip the guides.

the only rubber ones I can find are the umbrella style. are you talking about a .530 x 3/8 positive style rubber one? there are about 500 teflon brands, and Manley and a few others show a viton one  , but that's all I can find.

The ones that grip the valve guide with a metal ring(s). You have to push them on over the guide.

I'll see what I can find, the ones I have are made by PEP, ( precision engine parts )  from Vegas.   I'm going to call them Monday to see if they're recomending the ones I have but anyone know anything about the quality of their stuff? these are blue with a spring top and bottom, everytime I try something different it bites me in the butt.

OK I called PEP and what I have is their silicone positive seals, he say's they're good and I should use them. any opinions on silicone seals?  like I say I don't want to do this again right away if these things are junk.

Pretty much any seal that grips the valve guide is good. Like I said, just avoid the umbrella seals that just sit over it and allow oil to go up inside. Like the ones they throw in with the cheap gasket kits. Maybe some pictures would explain better.
