i think the pt is trenton factory and the other p is premium fuel then build date and then sequence i could be wrong

so would that mean it's an HP motor or is there any other way to tell an HP motor OTHER than the HP stamped on the engine pad?

The HP is the giveaway, if it's not there it wasn't an HP 383 when it left the line.
