This last weekend was a bust in regards to working on the Cuda.

My wife bought an above ground pool and we spent the weekend prepping the ground to set it up. Still not done and it's not ready to swim in yet. Will be nice when it's done though. The family can have fun in the pool while I'm in the garage working on the car!!!

suggestion, put the K frame in. with out that the front rails apron and cowl are under stress. The k frame will keep the box square and hold it while you rotate the car. Especially when it vertical. I have run into this a couple times. Important when you hang the doors and front end. With all that added weight the front end goes out of square and impossible to align properly.

Hey All,
It's been a while since I've been out here and a while since I've been working on the car. The 'Honey Do' list caught up with me. Since I've been on here last, I've remodeled a bathroom and set up an above ground pool. I don't recommend anyone does the latter by themselves! It was tough work in 95+ degree weather. Anyways, got the two projects done and now it's back to working on the Cuda for a while. That is until the wife decides I'm ready for the next project around the house!

Where I left off was getting rid of some of the rust that occured because the car sat out over a rainy weekend and a few spots were a little thin on epoxy primer. I've cleaned up and painted (with epoxy primer) the passenger inner fender wall, passenger door opening area, and all the areas supporting the dutchman panel/roof/wheelwells for both the drivers and passengers sides. It's a little too late for pics but I'll get some up shortly.

I'm glad to be back working on the car and back on the forum too!

Thanks! I have no idea if the radio works. Haven't had a chance, or even really thought about trying it out.

Tackled the rear frame rails and the back part of the interior - side panels, C pillars, package tray support, and interior facing parts of the inner wheel wells. I think next I�m going to flip it on it�s side to take care of the interior area of the cowl. Seems like it would be much easier to do that way.

Holy cow, I've been neglecting this thread!

Since the last update, I've taken all the rust off the outside of the roof, cut out the driver's side outer wheelwell house, and hammer and dollied the mating surfaces of the new sheet metal on the back of the car. This was my first time using a hammer and dolly and I think it came out pretty good!

Last night (even with a belly full of turkey) I managed to get the passenger side door disassembled. Two out the of three bolts that hold the tracks in on the bottom of the door really gave me a hard time. One ended up needing to be cut off with a cutting wheel and the other broke. The good news is that upon first inspection, the door looks solid! Not like my other door that has rotted all the way through along the bottom.

OK, I had that coming (

)! LOL!!!

Anywhoooo.... Didn't get a chance to do much tonight that would make lots of noise, so I took some time to look for the hardware (door strikers, door bolts, deck lid bolts, etc...) I'll need to line up the sheetmetal once it's ready to go on for fitting. I'm so glad I spent the time to bag & tag everything as it came off the car. Made finding the parts easy!!!

Here's a shot of one of the areas I hit (literally) with the hammer & dolly. The ridge where the trunk pan rests on the shock crossmember is what I'm trying to show in the pics below. It was really jacked up from taking the trunk pan out. Now, it's not perfect by any means, but pretty good for my first time using a hammer & dolly.

Lastly, here's two pics of the passenger's side door. I wont know for sure until I get it down to bare metal, but it looks pretty good as far as rot goes. There the couple scratches that will definately need some attention, but that should be the only major work that the door will need. Maybe a little attention along the edge where the bodyline is too will be in order as well. Just wish I was that luck on the driver's side door, it was rotted through sorta bad on the bottom. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have left the latch & door handles on. Oh well!!!
