It's all about attitude, my friend!  Right now, I'm on a roll and spirits are high!!!  Just the other night, I was coming home from work and the song Panama by Van Halen came over the air waves.  Hearing the drum intro sent shivers down my spine as I realized that will some day be MY CAR making that same rumbling!!!

Speaking of which, made some serious progress over the weekend.  With tremendous help from my brothers, Brad & Matt, tons was done over the course of the weekend.  The following was removed from the car:  front suspension (drums, shocks, A-arms, etc…), tranny, engine, K-member and torsion bars, back seat, seatbelts, interior trim pieces, headliner, package tray, front & rear glass (and cleaned all the adhesive from the window sills), rear side windows & mechanisms,  exterior window trim, trunk lid, tail lights, rear valance panel, rear drive train components (tires, differential, leaf springs, etc…), steering column, and gas tank.  Between the three of us, we probably put in about 48 hours (two days, 8 hours each day, three of us).  Not all of it was easy going.  All the ball joints required heat and persuasion from the 5 lb sledge.  Windows were a pain and time consuming too.  So, all that’s left to remove are the brake and gas lines, steering column braces, rear bumper, gas tank straps, and a few other odds & ends!!! :woohoo:

My brothers worked Friday and Saturday on the car so I fingured the least I could do is take them out to see a local band a catch the tab for their brews!!!  My brothers live 5 hours away and we don't see each other too often.  It was great to spend the time with them doing something we all liked to do!
Cheers!

Thanks!   :cooldancing:

the_engineers:  I'm planning on making an AAR clone out of it.  It currently has a 318.  My plan is to put a bored & stroked 360 in it.  I know AARs only came with 340s.  My goal with the car is to make it look as close to an AAR as possible (hence, staying with a small block), but with a little more power.  I want the engine to look stock.  I read an article recently where a guy made a 400+ displacement out of a 360 (in a Duster) and the only thing that didn't look stock was the headers.  I still have to research mroe into how he did it or how I can do something similar.  I'd like to run the cast iron headers if I can.  This is something that I'll have to heavily research and plan.   Additional plans call for a 4-speed tranny too.

Cheers!

Sean,
There are a lot of people running 400+ inch small blocks on here...71Chally416 comes to mind.  If you're looking for a package, check out Indy Cylinder Head or Hughes.  The 6-pack intake should be pretty easy.

I'm wondering if you'd want to use the carbs for the 440-6.

Thanks for the tip on the heads!  I'm not sure what carbs I'd have to use at this point.  I'm not that versed how to design an engine (i.e. what cam, carb cfms I'll need to run, valve sizes, etc...).  I'm reading all I can to educate myself on what I'm going to need to get a a well ballanced motor.

Cheers!

Hey Sean, how are the taillights? I have a decent set but the stainless trim rings are MIA. If you need them they are yours.

73inCanada:  You will have a blast with it!  I can understand the need for a garage in Canada!  I'm surprised I haven't caught hell from my wife yet.  Still have lots of parts on HER side of the garage and we're getting frost on the windsheilds.

Good luck with it.  Looks like you've got a great start on it. :2thumbs:  You can get those stroked small blocks to run too.  Check out this F.A.S.T. 1970 Challenger T/A.
