Yes Mike, progress!!!  Progress is good!

Today we dropped the car from the rotisserie and put on the doors.  With the doors on, the quarter panel gaps look good.  Then more test fitting and little nudges here and there.  The passenger side dropoff is fitting good but the driver side is going to need some work, it's too wide.  Also need to work on the gaps between the dutchman panel and the quarters, they're just a tad too wide.  At this time I believe the dutchmanpanel/quarter panel gaps and the dropoff are causing wide gaps (about 1/4 inch) on both sides of the deck lid.  Hopefully that will take out the extra space and tighten up around the decklid.  Got running around to do tomorrow so I don't know if I'll get anything done with the car.  However, I am keeping my fingers crossed!!!

OK, I'm busted -   Forgot to take the pics!!!!!!   :faint:

Thinking about it more, I'm going to measure the distance from where the inner & outter wheelhouses mate to the inside of the quarter panel.  Looking at the outer wheelhouses, the driver's side (replaced with an AMD) seems skinnier than the original on the passengers side.

Since I'm having issues and am looking for a little feedback, pics from yesterday's work are posted in the Body Shop forum.  Here's a link:  http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=76518.0

Been spending a few hours over the past couple days installing and tweaking the sheet metal on the car.

The valance panel that I bought off of eBay got a little love with the hammer and dolly. The tabs in the upper corners were bent over pretty bad so I spent some time getting those squared away. They are not quite yet where I want, but I can at least fit the valance on!

I think I finally have the decklid gaps where I want them.

One problem I see popping up impacting the gaps is the way the decklid doesn’t match up with the tailpanel. The decklid matches up at the quarters but I’ve got a progressive overhang of the decklid as it progresses toward the middle of the decklid. I’m afraid that if I push out the top of the tailpanel to match the deck lid, it will pull the quarters closer together’ thus screwing up my decklid gaps.

I’ve also been playing with the top of the quarter/door alignment on both the sides of the car. I’m getting close, just a little more tweaking and I think I’ve got it licked.

One spot that I don’t know how to take care of is a big gap where the tailanel meets the tailpanel support bracket. There a 1/4 by 3/8 (approx) hole on both sides that I’m not sure how to fill.

I will be replacing a full quarter maybe both soon, Old jedi-master gonna show me the ropes on it. Never done it before,  I think I am going to buy AMD full factory quarters.  I have heard they are the best and most accurate.  :working:

This is my first full quarter replacement and I using Goodmark quarters.  I'd have to say that over all I'm pretty happy with them.  I haven't used AMD so I can't say which is better.  Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

As of today, the resto comes to a skreeching halt.  Right now I' at the airport in Philly awaiing transport to Ft. Dix, NJ for some pre-deployment training.  Will be back home in 5 weeks.  Home for a month and then to Afghanistan.  It felt good to make the progress that I did over the last month or so.  Didn't get as much done as I would have hoped, but oh well!

I'll check in when I can!
