I appreciate the happy returns!  Sorry for not checking in.  I tried not to think about the car too much to keep the homesickness at bay.  You guys and gals are one of the reasons why we do what we do!!!

Thanks!

Found a really nice set of taillight buckets, chrome and bezels on eBay today. Picked them up for $156 (includes shipping). The plastic lenses look to be in really good shape. The bezels have a few small scratches and the chrome may need to be shown a little love. Since new bezels go for about $100, I think I made out pretty good!

Also, I’ve been looking for the rear pieces of vinyl top trim for quite a while and finally found a set on eBay (once again). The price kinda stung at $249.99 plus $35.00 shipping but that’s one less thing I need to buy for the car!

Finally got the Cuda over to the body guys shop last weekend!  It's been a long time coming and I'm glad it's there.  My wife had the camera so I don't have any pics of when we dropped it off, but I will be stopping by in the next day or two to see who progress is going.  Good thing is, he's about 3/4 of a mile away and has been a friend for a few years now.

Take lots of pics during the process, you'll be glad you did later! The first time I reviewed the video of my car being painted in the paintbooth I noticed for the first time that in the background on the shop's FM radio, Heart's "Barracuda" was playing!

Yesterday I sanded down the JB Weld (Kwik Weld) I put on the pitted pot metal taillight bezel. Come to find out that the JB Weld sands really good! It filled in pitted spots like a champ. I just need to go back and get a couple spots I missed and do the same thing to the other bezel.

I also bought a ralley guage cluster that I found for sale on Craigslist. They came out of a Challenger that got stripped out some time ago. It included the bucket, all guages, the clear lens and the bezel. For a little extra coin, he threw in a really nice, original wire hareness.

Tonight I applied J.B. Weld Kwik to the other headlight bezel.  I also painted the other taillight bucket.  The paint I used was was silver Rust-oleum 'Hammered'.  I used many light coats while still wet.  If you apply it too thick, it will start to craze (if that's the right word) and give you the hammered effect that the paint was designed to do.  However, using the light mist coats prevented that.  It gives a nice, not too shiney silver look.  Exactly what I was going for.  Below is a before and after pic of the painted taillight buckets.  Before on the right and after on the left.
