Sean, I don't see how your doing this without a rotisserie... At 50 & not terrible shape the bending over to cut fit & weld the little bit I have is a major pain.. You NEED a Rotisserie BAD.
I agree 100%!!! A rotisserie would be nice. $1000 - $1500 for a spinner isn't in the budget right now. If there's another restore in the future, I'll definately get one!Sean
A little free scrap metal and a couple of hundred I think I could build thishttp://www.reenmachine.com/misc/Automotive_Rotisserie_Plan_Set.pdf
Thanks for the link! A guy up the road from me bought two engine hoists from Harbor Freight for $125 each and is using the metal from that to build his. Sean
I could see that working..would need a couple of 8' 4X4s clamped to each one to keep it stable.. Man if your time or health are worth anything I'd at least be scouring craigslist for some used. http://www.searchtempest.com/results.php?Region=na&statesel=&citysel=&statecodes=&citycodes=&catname=all+sale%2Fwanted&citySelect=zip&maxDist=100&zip=62294&category=8&subcat1=ccc&subcat2=eee&subcat3=ggg&subcat4=hhh&subcat5=jjj&subcat6=ppp&subcat7=res&subcat8=sss&subcat9=bbb&minAsk4=min&maxAsk4=max&bedrooms=&minAsk6=min&maxAsk6=max&minAsk8=1&maxAsk8=1000&doa=&search_string=engine+stand&keytype=all&search_string_neg=This place has the same stand for $99.http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/2-000-LB-Capacity-Folding-Engine-Stand-p/htes2000.htm
A rotisserie for $300. I'm definately going to look into it and see what I can find locally for donor peices. Kmyles, Did you have enough clearance for the body to go completely sideways using engine stands? I'm a little worried that the stands might not be tall enough. Got any pics?Sean
I had to add some sections into it to make it higher but other than that it worked like a charm! I'll see if I can dig up some pics tomrrow at the office. BTW the engine stand you are looking at is exactly like the two I bought to make it work
