Had some fun with a cutting wheel and an air chisel...!  Looks like the outer wheel housing is shot as well.  I had a feeling it was going to nee to be replaced but was hoping it didn't need to be.  I know an experienced body guy who lives just up the road, I think I'll have him come over and give me a second opinion.  I'm pretty sure I know what he's going to say...

Thanks Brett!  Now if I can just get out of putting up baseboard trim in my daughter's room tomorrow night, I can get the rest of the quarter out and get started on the other side.  Maybe Thursday night!!!

Sean,  I don't see how your doing this without a rotisserie... At 50 & not terrible shape the bending over to cut fit & weld the little bit I have is a major pain.. You NEED a Rotisserie BAD.

I agree 100%!!!  A rotisserie would be nice.  $1000 - $1500 for a spinner isn't in the budget right now.  If there's another restore in the future, I'll definately get one!

Thanks for the link!  A guy up the road from me bought two engine hoists from Harbor Freight for $125 each and is using the metal from that to build his.

I bought two engine stands and braced it between the bottom and oviously modified where the engine mounts and I was in business for less than $300!

I built my own also. Maybe had $300 in it with some nice caster wheels.

A rotisserie for $300.    I'm definately going to look into it and see what I can find locally for donor peices.

Did you have enough clearance for the body to go completely sideways using engine stands?  I'm a little worried that the stands might not be tall enough.  Got any pics?

I could see that working..would need a couple of 8' 4X4s clamped to each one to keep it stable.. I had to add some sections into it to make it higher but other than that it worked like a charm! I'll see if I can dig up some pics tomrrow at the office. BTW the engine stand you are looking at is exactly like the two I bought to make it work
