You know what Joe, I probably would have said the same thing a few months ago! LOL! This is my first resto and I think I may have gotten a doosey of a first car to work on. However, patience, research, and talking to other car nuts have really made the job pretty easy. I have to say that planning and research have the biggest part of the project so far, and have payed off BIG!!!

It's been fun and without the support I've gotten from the forum and the local car guys, I never would have gotten even this far!!!

Quick update - Over the long weekend, I was able to only squeeze in a few hours with the car.

I managed to get the rest of the passenger's side quarter and trunk drip rail removed.

Great advice! That's one lesson I'm NOT going to learn the hard way! Got everything in various sizes of ziplock bags. They say a picture is worth a thousand words - I can easily see how a thousand pictures taken during a restore can save you from saying a million four letter words!!!

I will say that my single biggest mistake is getting all the stuff to bag and tag. Then I ended up getting in a hurry, putting a bunch of random nuts and bolts in a big gallon bag. I have 3 such bags and its going to be a mess to sort through when I get to the small stuff.

Brett, The bagging & tagging was almost a painfull process, especially wen you get on a roll taking parts off. But it is a necessary evil!

Here you go, Drew! Here's a shot just before the passenger's side trunk rail came out. I did take more pics on the passenger's side, but they didn't come out well at all... I'll have to re-shoot those later.

Kinda seems like it huh! LOL! Next step is to clean up where the spot welds were and then get rid of the rust on the back half of the car. My goal is to have everything between the quarters back in and the back half of the car covered in epoxy primer before I deploy in Oct. I still have a bunch of work ahead of me but I think the goal is realistic. I'm sure I could do more, but I have to balance my time with family, work, etc...

Hi All!
I'm back home from Iraq, have the closet organizer that the wife wanted all installed so now it's Cuda-Time! Today I got in the sway bars I won on eBay. They are in really great shape except for one of the rear's mounting brackets. I figure that shold be easy enough to replace or fix.

I also dropped off the cut list for the rotisserie I'm going to build to the metal supplier. In the next day or two, I should have my metal and can start putting it together.

Welcome back Sean.

Just a little tip for when you weld the rotisserie together.

Angle grind the ends slightly at a 45 degree angle. This way when you weld up, you get a much better weld ajointment of the two meeting. That equates to a stronger frame to support your car.

Thanks for the tip, Mike! This is going to be my first time MIG welding. I haven't welded since highschool and that was only arc welding. A friend is going to teach me how to weld on the rotisserie and watch over me as I do my welds to make sure they are good. I've been reading up on how to weld so soon it will be time to put what I've read into practice.
