I agree   :iagree:  we here in Australia call it Armistist Day, the day the guns fell silent in 1918, many brave men lost their lives fighting for freedom.   :nzflag:   :canada:   :wavingflag:  Hopefully soon the Australian Flag, the English Flag, we all fought together for a better world...  LEST WE FORGET

I am a veteran and I am also back in Iraq.  There is hardly anything here to even see that it is veterans day.  I enlisted 31 years ago today on 11/11/77.  A big thanks to all who serve our country.     :wavingflag:
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

My Mother AND Father have served in the US NAVY, my Brother has reenlisted into the NAVY and is returning to A-School next month, and my youngest Sister has just arrived at her new Navy Station in Washington State.

I'd have joined myself if it weren't for the big pins in my foot...  I'd never be allowed in.

In Canada we call today "Remembrance Day" to remember all those that served.
Banks and government establishments are closed for the day and we wear poppies as a symbol of respect and remembrance.

In Canada we call today "Remembrance Day" to remember all those that served.
Banks and government establishments are closed for the day and we wear poppies as a symbol of respect and remembrance.

Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

In Flanders Fields the poppies grow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

God bless you all.
