In over my head challenger pics UPDATE FINALLY
« on: November 11, 2008 - 04:27:55 PM »
Hi everyone, I did an intro in the newb section, but I figured I would post some in here because I can't believe I am finally getting something done, thanks to some of you guys. I had the front susp powdercoated and put it together with a poly kit, and am currently waiting for the torsion bar boots and clips, so I can finally bolt something back on the car after many years apart. Please if you see something in the pics that is wrong or I missed let me know, Thanks. Oh by the way, I,m not going for original, more of a hot rod that will be raced and driven alot.

Looking good, not sure what side the brake lines will be on, but you may want to swap the calipers/spindles side to side so they are front hung to use factory lines.

I am using stock brakes, did I really put the spindles on the wrong side? ( I told you I was in over my head)

Look at the location of the brake lines on the body, should be to the rear of the car, I had my calipers hung to the rear when I had some work done.  I had to swap the spindles side to side to get the right clearances for the rubber hose.

Easy enough to do with it off the car though.

Tom
These pics shows the caliper to the rear.  You can see the tough angles created here.

Yup,
A buddy says  "We do it once, We do it twice, We do it THREE times to get it right." all in a sarcastic tone to his guys.LOL

Good to catch it now either way.  Do you have a FSM?  Mine came very handy during reassembly.

Great work!! Isn't it nice to finally be at the point where you can bolt up CLEAN parts to a CLEAN body?! Wait til you get it painted - THEN the fun REALLY begins. Good luck and keep them coming!

Thanks again, fixed it. I got all excited to see a box on my front step when I got home, figured it was my torsion bar boots and clips from Mancini, of course boots and clips were the only thing on backorder, guess I can wait to bolt it up or call another vendor.

I hope my plans won't be long term (lol) but they probably will. Currently my 416 with solid roller is almost complete, 10.5 to 1, 3.91 rear 727 t flite, billet specialties street lite wheels, copper color (stacy davids project copperhead color), ss springs, looking for aftermarket gauge cluster with autometer gauges, scat racing seats.
