what kind of pistons do I have?
« on: November 11, 2008 - 04:48:55 PM »
I`m currently tearing down my 440. pulled the heads and cleaned the top of the pistons. the block will just be refreshed so no oversize boring will be done. it looks to be in pretty good condition.  I will drop it off at the machine shop some time this week when I got the crank and pistons out.  so I was wondering if these pistons are stock replacement or something else .

They are already overbore pistons, but those are the 440-6 2355 trw pistons. If your block needs boreing even further, I would like your used pistons there :icon16:  Cant tell if the over bore says .040  or .060 or what on them. Heavy piston, but good stock replacements :stirpot:

:iagree: That's an old  Sealed power/Speed Pro number for 10 to 1 forged pistons.

they are .030 over.  the block doesn`t need boring so I fear you`re out of luck.... if these are good quality pistons I will put them back in  :2thumbs:  thanks
