Not sure where they are coming from..   :dunno:  All we can do right now is remove the threads when we come across them.  We try to stay ahead of the game, but we still miss one every now and then.    :pullinghair:    When you see them, let us know and they will be removed asap.

Are they people actually signing up or is it just some sort of a web-bot?  Do we have one of those "type the letters as you see in the box" things where it gives a distorted image?  Of course I have to wonder if there's a way around those...

When I joined the Viper forum, it had one of those AND a text box that simply said "what is 2+2?  Enter the answer below."  Seems like that'd be difficult for a web bot to get past.

Yes, this has a verification image needed. Admin can disabled it or have it on easy, medium or hard. They can also make the user signing up have a "hard" password. Eg: more than 8 digits and at least 1 number, etc to no limit, ie: 1 as a password. I have mine on no password restrictions and high verification, working well. If they start to sneak in I'll set the password to medium. But, hopefully by then Simple Machines software guys have a new patch installment to combat these new age spammers.  :2cents:
