Custom Challenger stripe poll
« on: November 12, 2008 - 10:30:10 PM »
I wanted something different for my Challenger, so I asked ChallengerGary to mock up a couple of AAR style stripes, since I've never seen one on a Challenger before. But now that I see both of them, I'm having a hard time making up my mind, so please help me out.

The first picture, is of the AAR style stripe with the strobes slanted in the regular AAR position.
The second picture, is of the AAR style stripe with the strobes slanted in the opposite direction.

Which one looks better?

Really a hard choice to me but for some odd reason I like the forward slanting stripe  :dunno:

I did something similar once, but I used a T/A style stripe. The longer 1970 stripe just looked to "busy" for me with all the cutouts.

I also did not cut into the outline for the same reason.

Here is a pic of the "Zebra";

The forward slanting stripe looks more aggressive, IMO, like the car wants to charge forward...

Absolutely the forward slant.  That stripe looks really good on that car.

If i could make a suggestion, i would lay it forward more to have the same lean as the rear quarter window line and only have the internal as the sectioned area, and have the outer line as a full solid border as original T/A's.

x2 Perhaps not such contrast? Maybe a dull or dark silver/grey would be good.

Well, the car is being painted Viper Yellow, and I was planning on having the stripe black, so thats pretty contrasty.

Sorry, that wasn't mentioned anywhere, hence my reply.
Makes a difference and yes you are correct, it is a contrast.

Best of luck with it.  ;)

FWIW - I just used this pic of the car because I could not find any really good 90 degree angle shots of a Challenger.  I had to use the white stripe to contrast for illustration purposes.  The biggest problem is the pic is low rez so the stripes get kind of murky looking.  If someone could email me a good High Rez 90 degree side picute of a yellow Challenger, I can make a more true to life mock-up.

I am actually going to be putting a similar stripe on an '09 Challenger this weekend.  I will post some pics of it when I am done.  It is a Hemi Orange car and I will be putting on Matte Black stripes  :biggrin:
