I agree they messed it up badlly!!!  It's starting to look to modern than retro. The front I could live with but the back is terrible.  :puke:

The rear of the car looks terrible. The current Mustang is much better. Just wait until they remodel the new Challenger !! :puke:

I like some of the changes, but it still has a live rear axle.... Camaro and Challenger got IRS.

My first thought was they didn't do as good a job of emulating the longer lines of the 60's models as with the current model, so it looks fat from the side, but I'll reserve judgement until I see the actual thing in person.  Same thing with the front end - if you look at it from the profile shots, it's not so protruding as it looks in the 3/4 shots.  Sometimes the lines don't translate well to the two dimensional aspects of a photo.

When the first Audi 5000's came out in 1984 (?), Car & Driver was waxing poetic about how beautiful it was.  I wrote a letter (which they published) about how ugly it was, based solely on their photographs.  After the letter came out in print, I actually saw one and realized that what looked fat and bulbous in pictures was actually pretty sleek.  It looks dated now, but in 1984, it was pretty cutting edge and presaged by one year the first-gen Ford Taurus.

Well being a current 05 Stang owner (Please don't hate me, lol) with 100K miles on it.  I have to say they could have done worse, some things I like, some things I don't.  It does seems a little to busy.  But I'm sure it will grow on me.  It really doesn't make difference what I think, I can't afford either one (stang or challenger) right now.

I was wondering what you would think.   :grinyes:

Honestly, if the new Challenger wasn't on the scene now, this Mustang would be in my sights.   :ylsuper:

Ya, when I bought my stang back in 05 it was the only thing in that market.  I sure do like those new black challengers RT with the nice chrome 5 spoke wheels.  Your challenger still treating you good?

To each his own, but I like it:

My tastes are changing I guess, but I'm really preferring these days more compact type cars.  i think the Challenger and Camaro are way too big and fat.

Look at the new BMW M3.  It has a V8 in it and just as room inside, yet it's a hell of a lot smaller and more agile than the bloated new age musclecars.

Well first off we have to ban Snowdog for owning a Mustang (just kidding) It eh muscle car years they changed the cars every year and now every five. Good for them. There are just too many 05 and up Mustangs out there so they had to change it. I still love the new Challenger and Camaro vert.

I'm surprised you guys are complaining about the front of the car...

The rear end looks more like a Camry or Eclipse than anything American.  I actually think the front looks nice - I've always liked a forward leaning rake to the nose of a car.  My only concern is - for as angled as that looks - if cooling will become a concern because not enough air might be able to enter the lower grill at high speeds.  At very high speeds, lift could become an issue.

What I really feel bad for is the aftermarket companies that have poured millions into developing parts for the current mustang only for it to be replaced so quickly by a new body style.  Does anyone know if the guts beneath the skin are being changed or not?

Jeff
It may be. I've heard about the Mustang(LX) having a turbo V6 that will house more power(320 or so rwhp) than the current GT. So, if theLX will have the much power, the GT has gotta pack more.

Don't know if anyone caught it, but Knight Rider had an '10 Mustang on it last night - just a short clip of it.  It was red with the white "mustang" strip along the sideskirts.  I have to say that the rear end looked a LITTLE better than the image that started this thread, but I still didn't like it.
