Challenger rubber bumpers???

the rubber bumper Challengers look awesome, i think they look just right when done correctly in two tone.

Dont get me wrong, I love the 2 tone look, I was just bummed because it leaves no option for base Challengers. I know you could get rubber bumpers on base Barracudas, at least Gran Coupes anyway. It is so odd to finally discover that Dodge Challenger was the supposed fancier model when there were options that Plymouth offered that just seems classier than Dodge. The rubber bumpers, road lamps, color keyed grilles in '71. The hidden fuel cap behind the license plate, the off centered trunk latch. I ran out of things that were different but I know there are more.

Ive seen this in 2 or three places. cant remember where. havnt seen it done. But, im thinking some guy had this done  to their bumpers by a  truck bed liner company. they just sprayed it on. says he loves it. i know this much , it wont come off if thats what they used. that stuff will stick to a beer fart.

A nice car no doubt, but I also prefer the chrome bumbers on the Challengers.  For some reason I like the colored bumpers on the Cudas though.  Then again, I prefer the painted mirrors over the chrome ones.  Hmm, I am so inconsistent I don't know which way to go.  I guess, in the end, I'll take it no matter what it is as long as it's an e-body.

An updated link for Gene Gregory's Alhambra Custom Service. I got a pair of the bumpers from him years ago and they were really nice.
Met Gene at his shop in Alhambra, IL and he was nice to deal with. Very "old school", though, so you'll probably have the best luck contacting him via traditional methods (ie. phone, snail mail or in person).

the fit was excellent. he makes the bumpers using original factory steel bumpers as the core so the bolts all line up as well as the spacing.
Since I used to sell Cuda and Challenger parts at a few of the Mopar shows I met him a few times before I bought them for my car. After talking with him a couple of times I knew that they are quality pieces so I decided to get a pair.
Worked out pretty well for me too because he buys the old bumpers as cores. Since he also makes shaker hoods he also buys original flat hoods and I had a lot of both. Ended up getting the rubber bumpers for my cores. not sure if he does that anymore since that was many years ago but even at his regular price they're worth it.
