Wish my brother luck on buying 70 cuda
« on: November 24, 2008 - 11:07:43 AM »
My brother is looking at a 70 cuda for $700!!! It has a clear title and all of the exterior sheet metal. Rust in the floors to say the least but can't beat the price. I've seen pictures and it is rough but I think well worth the money. Once I know more and can post pictures I will. As for now wish him luck on the purchase.

He is a member. He also has a 73 Challenger with a 440 and 727. He just isn't very active. But if he gets the car I will make sure that at least one of us will cover the restoration on here. It would be a fun project.

A 70 Cuda for $700??

I not only wish him luck, but a ton of patience to bring it back to life.    :working:

From the pictures the body is pretty straight, but has some rust in the quarters (can't tell how bad though), rust in the rear window channel, the floors will all need to be repalced (thank god for AMD and Goodmark). It's on blocks but the suspension is in the car just needs wheels) no glass, no interior other than the steering column and dash with VIN tag. I haven't seen under the hood but there is supposedly a small block and transmission in the car. Definitely a huge project but nothing we can't handle and the price is definitely right.

Here are pictures of the cuda. My brother decided to pass on it, decided he didn't want this large of a project right now. If the door structure hadn't been cut out and the door and quarter gap hadn't been so screwed he would have got it.

That car has already surfaced here on another tread. It has been through a fire and would be one hell of a mess to redo. Its a good thing he passed on it!!! :2thumbs:

I don't blame him. That is a Project with a capital P (as in P.O.S). Is that really a CA car?  If so, it's going to give the Golden State a bad name?

Yeah it's up in Redding. If it were a factory BS car I would bring it back, but a 318 car not so much.

Let someone else lose the time and money needed to restore that thing and then buy it. Sorry, I don't think a car that far gone is worth it. Or, part it and crush it. No one will miss a 318 car, and real parts are still needed out there.  :2cents:
