I'd just send them the bill for the damage and tell them if they refuse to pay you'll go to every car board on the Planet and let everybody know what they did, complete with pictures. :smokin:

If the law is like the one we have in tennessee, If a vechicle has not been tagged for several years, it goes into an inactive file. I bought a 70 challenger last year and the same thing happened to me, but the lady asked me if it had tags bought for it recently, when I told her no, she looked it up in the inactive files and found it, This might help you to try that, thanks

Here is an update! Just as I thought, it appears DAS has no integrity! A copy of a e-mail I just sent.....

My car was dropped off at a bond shed with no one to make a claim too. I was told to phone the shipping company which I did YOU!  I would hope DAS would not be so shadey in dealing with this!
These are the facts, the car was undamaged and running when DAS picked it up. When it was dropped off at the bond shed it was not running with the driveshaft hangging and tranny fluid running out of it.As well as the front valance smashed up! I had 3 other people besides myself with me to pick up the car as witnesses. I would suggest DAS work WITH me on this other wise you will be paying the damages as well as the legal fee's . I won't be letting this go, I feel I have been very patient with DAS thus far. 3 months now!

Mr. Richmond,

Based on the information that has been provided, DAS is unable to accept liability for the damage being claimed. There has been no documentation provided that the damage you are claiming was present at destination. Upon delivery of the vehicle, all damage must be noted or documented on the delivery receipt or inspection form and unfortunately there is no documentation of damage. For this reason, we must respectfully deny this claim.

If you are able to provide any documentation from destination that verifies that damage was present, I will be glad to re-visit your claim and review that information.

However, at this time no evidence has been provided that the damage is related to transport.

If you have any questions regarding the decision of your claim or feel there is any information I may have missed, please feel free to contact me.

Kindest regards,

Zach Patterson

Did you take pics of the damage and send it to them?

Get copies of phone records or emails to them regarding the damage. I hope you contacted them upon delivery when you noticed the damage. If you can show documentation that you contacted them then I think you can make them pay, if not you are probably screwed. Good luck, there is no way they should be able to get away with that kind of damage.   :villagers:

I`d take the story to a lawyer and see if there would be a case... if there is, hit `em... if there isn`t, get it out of your head and get the car fixed  :burnout:

Yep! I phoned as soon as I got it home and they asked to see pictures, so I sent them the next day! They wouldn't tell me why the car was "inoperatable" they just wanted more money. then they wouldn't tell me when they would deliver it. I get a call from a "bond shed" saying my car was there? I mentioned the damage to the lady at the bond shed and she said to contact the shipper. So I did. They damage my car so it doesn't run anymore. Charge me more $ to deliver it then they "dump it and run" They say "we never wrecked it, we are not responsible???" Gee the car worked fine when they picked it up????? And didn't have the from valance smashed????
Unethical Moron's!!

I just finished replacing the rear end  tonight ( Thanks to a couple of members here getting me the parts I needed! )

You should have noted any damage on the receiving document you signed when you picked it up & kept a copy.

There was nothing to sign. All I had to do was take the customs papers to the customs office , pay some money then give that back to the bond shed and take the car. The lady at the bond shed said that I would have to contact the shipper not them?
