well if someone can help me figure out why it says the directories dont have permission when ive opened up the folder as far as i can then ill do it right away.  but ive chmod all folders 777 and when i try to upload it says not even permission or something like that

Hi Ross, if you're having what I think it is, where you enter all the details correctly and all you get is the dreaded "red x" then this was the fix for my site. It should work, did for mine, sometimes the path can change, not sure how though. Hopefully Simple Machines guys can fix the bug (if there is one). I guess with anything IT related things can go wrong, anyhow..........

In Admin, go to Smileys and Messages then click Settings.
Make sure that the path to the main site is the one that its supposed to be on.

Hopefully this fixes it.
