Yep, that's JeffAARy.  I knew there was something about that guy!  Happy sure knows his Mopars....

He and his dad were in the area for the Ohio/LSU game last year.  It was cool to meet him and look through his car scrap book.

I'm in Miss. right off I-10. We are about 20 miles from the LA border. The shop of my buddies where the cuda is houses some pretty clean Mopars. It is like a carshow all the time over there. I just got my car going so I could take you for a spin in a supercharged 408 stroker.

What time are you going to be rolling through MS?

I'm only two hours south of Amarillo. But you'll miss me by about a week and 5000 miles.
Can I offer some advice? I don't know if you've ever made that drive through Louisiana,
but if you take this route, , you'll avoid the Atchafalaya Basin bridge on I-10 which has
been known to be shut down at times for wrecks, plus it's a speed trap. You'll cut off some miles, avoid Lafayette, and
it's a nice drive.
Also, if I may, instead of trying to go to Amarillo through Decatur from Dallas, I would stay on I-20 all the way through Abilene
to Roscoe and then take 84 to Lubbock and I-25 to get to Amarillo. It's more miles but it's interstate most of the way
and may save you time in the end.
I don't mean to be presumptuous, but I used to make this drive twice a month... (in one day)... when I was working in the gulf.

Thanks 'Cuda. I think I'll take your advice on avoiding the bridge, also heard Layafette isn't the nicest town in the world. As far as staying on I-20, I might be meeting up with someone there from another board, then spending the night in Decatur rather than going straight through to Amarillo in the same breath.

Mike, Nothing wrong with the basin bridge between Baton rouge and Lafayette. I lived around there for 25 yrs. If you go this other route, it is slower, has a couple of police traps and you will be able to view state Capital drag way.   I would watch the weather leaving out Dec 27th?  You may just want to keep low on I-10 all the way close to La. then head up the vegas trail   Flagstaff is bound to have bad snow up there. You don't drive through the city in Lafayette either, but Houston or Dallas will be a real Pita. Just be careful and plan your route according to weather. Best of luck to you.

Oh, when you cross me Mississippi river bridge in Baton Rouge, Look to the right and you'll see another bridge. H.P. Long.  When you see the Exon fuel storage tanks, that is where some of my races are stashed. About 3 blocks from the area

Thanks guys. I don't mind seeing a little weather believe it or not. I grew up in the Desert, and lived in Florida the past two years...so I've seen Summer...and "Winter" (its was in the mid 70s today).

Two years I was there it "snowed", what landed lasted all of a second. They said about 5" which is a ton for the middle of the desert! It was 81* here in Florida today...not looking forward to being "cold"!

Wife said it was 68 at home today. Of course I am in Northern Washington right now getting rained and snowed on everyday outside.  Buy I'm just about done. It has been crazy weather all over the nation.

It doesn't look like you are too far off the path, we're driving through the south side of ft. worth, up 35w to 287/81 and sleeping in Decatur. If you want to PM me your number and address, I'll see what we can do!
